Bass guitarist, history buff, sports enthusiast

Rick Northrup has lived in Dexter, Michigan for over 20 years. He and his wife, Dawn, love living in Dexter because of its good people, vitality, and beautiful scenery. There is a liveliness that permeates the Ann Arbor area with the various events, shows, and get-togethers it has to offer. Rick and Dawn believe there is nothing like living in a Midwest college town and find it to be the best place to raise a family. They have raised their two boys here, Colin and Graham, who are now in their 20’s and living their best lives. In addition, Kellie the house cat, and Denver, Colin's service dog, are Rick's furry members of the family.

As the President and CEO of Bank Michigan, Rick has a busy work week. In his free time, he enjoys playing the bass guitar and learning about history. Relaxation for Rick is watching sports, particularly college football and major league baseball. In Rick’s opinion, the greatest way to pass the time is to read, especially when traveling. He frequently reads the Travis McGee series by John J. Macdonald, which consists of 21 thrillers. Rick has read every single book, some of them more than once. His favorite show to watch when he has the time, is MythBusters. He has seen every single episode. When the holidays come around, you can bet Rick will be watching his favorite Christmas movie— Die Hard.

Rick finds his role at Bank Michigan to be the ultimate career fulfillment. He considers himself extremely privileged to be able to work with a team of smart, talented, and interesting people who work hard to support their community. He appreciates the efforts of everyone that makes Bank Michigan great, from the bank staff, customers, and vendors. This network of support creates connections to turn frustrations into fortunes. At Bank Michigan, there is always something to learn, a laugh to be shared, and positive energy to boost productivity.

Dynamo, nature lover, Spartan fan

Cindy Hayes has lived in Michigan all her life. She loves Michigan for its scenic wonders and the various outdoor activities the area has to offer. She also loves Michigan because this is where she found love! It’s where she met her husband, her high school sweetheart. They dated for a few years and were finally married a year after she graduated from college.

Cindy enjoys spending her leisure time at Michigan's magnificent parks, where she can explore the great outdoors. She is always on the go and often partakes in her favorite outdoor pursuits, such as bicycling, skiing, jogging, or taking a stroll to enjoy the scenery.

When she wants to wind down, Cindy enjoys bowling with family and friends. A relaxing day at home consists of high-stakes shows such as Wicked Tuna, Deadliest Catch, and Gordon Ramsay shows. When it is game time for Michigan, Cindy’s support is for the Spartans. She is a lifelong Spartan fan and follows the Michigan State basketball and football games closely.

Cindy loves being a part of the Bank Michigan team. Their teamwork and camaraderie are unmatched when it comes to helping meet the financial needs of their clients. She admires the creativity and talent that her colleagues bring to everyday tasks, from complex to simple. The Bank Michigan team values human experiences and personalized interactions. Ann Arbor admirer, Petoskey stone collector, fly fishing expert

Mike Chatas has lived in Ann Arbor for over 40 years and has enjoyed every minute of it! He loves living in a university town and frequently attends various sporting events and musical entertainment programs offered by the University of Michigan.

His wife, Amy is also involved in the Ann Arbor community and works for two local entrepreneurs. Mike’s favorite pastime is watching or attending UM football, basketball, or hockey games. Another joy in his life is his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry, who loves nothing more than to sit on his lap while he works at his desk or enjoys a good TV show. 

Mike takes in Michigan’s beauty in his spare time. He loves to enjoy the great outdoors and go fly fishing whenever he can. Polishing Petoskey stones he finds along the shores of Michigan’s beautiful beaches, brings him great joy.

Mike firmly believes that Bank Michigan is a great place for prospective business owners, and for him. He enjoys helping people acquire and ultimately own their business. He appreciates that Bank Michigan focuses on one-to-one interaction and personalized experiences to create stronger businesses for the future. Bank Michigan is not only about providing support through funding but also with guidance, experience, and industry expertise. Mike values being able to utilize these perks that Bank Michigan offers and assist clients in realizing their dreams, goals, and objectives.

Brenda A. Brandom is Executive Vice President of Bank Michigan and is responsible for managing their Cannabis Banking, Treasury Management and Retail Services programs. She has 20+ years of experience in Banking. Her specialty has been focused on Treasury Management and the past 4 years inclusive of a high growth cannabis banking program. Brenda believes that banking should be available for all eligible consumers and business customers. As such she has spent majority of her career in banking at organizations that have been innovators and risk takers in the market.

She has a masters degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Marygrove College.

Currently employed at Bank Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI she is working to build momentum in both their areas of Cannabis and Treasury Management. She was formerly employed at what was originally a de novo bank that opened in 2007. Brenda spent 15 years of her career there and grew treasury management from $0 to hundreds of millions. And in 2019 she was instrumental in starting their cannabis banking program in MI in consort with BSA and Risk Management.

The only multi-billion-dollar bank in this space as such Brenda grew the program from $0 to multi-millions in an 18-month time period. Brenda continued to grow both programs through the banks acquisition in 2022. She also currently serves on the Board of Arts Centric a program that focuses on providing youth interested in theater with training and a stage to cultivate their talents. Using the arts to inform, change and enhance lives, one audience at a time. Their goals coincide with Brenda's desire to provide banking to enhance all deserving businesses on a broad spectrum.

Michigander, music aficionado, wanderer 

Kacie Eberenz has lived her entire life in Brooklyn and adores her hometown! She loves the close community, beautiful lakes, and summertime activities. 

Kacie has a lot to celebrate in her life. She recently got engaged. She has a wonderful daughter that is growing up in an amazing place. She also has two German short-haired Pointers that protect and love her family. 

Kacie is a music lover. Her radio is always on with her favorite XM stations such as The Highway, Octane, Prime Country, and Hits 1. When she isn’t working, Kacie’s main priority is spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys good music, everything outdoors, and traveling. Her favorite thing to do on the weekends is taking trips up north with her family.

Kacie enjoys working at Bank Michigan because it is a bank that truly cares about people. Every day, she feels rewarded being able to assist people that place their trust and confidence in her advice and service. Kacie is always happy to hear from happy clients about how simple she made their mortgage process.

Local, nature lover, sports fan

Hannah Ross is an Onsted native with roots in the heart of Michigan’s agricultural community. Her family runs Ross Farms and participates in local fairs and competitions. Hannah loves Onsted because everyone treats each other like family.

She values the close-knit sense of community as she comes from a large family herself. She has three siblings and a total of seven nieces and nephews. She enjoys the time she gets to spend with her family and uses it to bond with her son Waylon, partner Tom, and black lab Avery. 

Hannah enjoys her time off taking in the wonders of nature. Her favorite outdoor activities include hiking, camping, kayaking, and snowboarding. At a Michigan game, you’ll see her rocking the “green and white” for her favorite sports team, Michigan State.

Bank Michigan is more than a bank to Hannah; it’s a reflection of the local community that reminds her of her roots. Working at Bank Michigan gives her the opportunity to help people every day, resolve issues, and play an active role in continuously improving the functions and service offerings of the bank.
